What is Sermorelin?  

Sermorelin is a synthetically made version of growth hormone-releasing hormone (GHRH), the endogenous hormone responsible for stimulating natural growth hormone production. Also known as a growth hormone-releasing factor and GRF 1-29, it is categorized as a growth hormone secretagogue, a  compound that stimulates increased secretion of growth hormone from the pituitary gland.  

Like the body’s natural GHRH, Sermorelin works by binding to the growth hormone-releasing hormone receptor (or GHRHr) in the anterior part of the pituitary gland. There, it works to stimulate the natural production of GH. This has several positive effects, two of which are the prevention of extreme and unhealthy GH levels in the body and the mirroring of more natural patterns of fluctuation in GH  concentrations. Additionally, its natural action mechanism allows for the preservation of the hypothalamic-pituitary-somatotropic axis, preventing the shutdown of hormone production that typically accompanies direct replacement with HGH.

What is Ipamorelin?  

Ipamorelin is a synthetic version of ghrelin, which stimulates the release of growth. Acting like ghrelin,  ipamorelin stimulates the release of growth hormone-releasing hormone and reduces the release of somatostatin. 

Studies on the benefits of ipamorelin have demonstrated the following anti-aging benefits: 

  • Increase bone density (Svensson et al., 2000)  
  • Increases body fat loss in obese adults (Kim et al, 1999)  
  • Increased muscle mass (Andersen et al, 2001)  
  • Enhanced immune system  
  • Boosting of cellular protein synthesis (neolab Research, 2015)  

Why Combine Sermorelin and Ipamorelin?  

Sermorelin and Ipamorelin are often combined because they have synergistic properties Research and real-world application have proven them to help slow down the aging process, increase muscle mass,  decrease fat mass, reduce inflammation, and heal the gut. These two signaling molecules mimic natural hormones within the body to stimulate the release of growth hormones from the pituitary gland. Not only do they can they stimulate the production and release of your own body’s growth hormone, but they are able to do so in a way that is safe and complementary with one another.  

How is it Administered?  

Your doctor will reconstitute the medicine in a container. Insulin needles will be provided, and you will be instructed on how to inject at our office (If you are remote, we will schedule a video demonstration).  Afterward, you should keep the medication refrigerated at home and self-administer as per recommendations.  

Sermorelin/Ipamorelin is injected subcutaneously (under the skin). The recommended schedule of dosing is at night to mimic the effects of natural growth hormone release. It is best to take it at least one hour after eating dinner, so food does not interfere with the release of growth hormone and IGF-1.  Staying well-hydrated is also recommended. Dosing protocol unless otherwise specified by your doctor is 0.2 ml sub-Q (300mcg) at bedtime five nights a week. It can take up to three to six months to get the full benefits from Sermorelin/ipamorelin. 

 

 

  

Side Effects:  

Sermorelin/Ipamorelin combination is generally well-tolerated, with few side effects in most people who take it.  

Common reported side-effects:  

  • Pain or redness at the injection site  
  • Rare swelling at the injection site  

Rarely reported side effects include:  

  • Dizziness  
  • Flushing  
  • Headaches  
  • Sleepiness  
  • Hyperactivity
